CAS Research Group „The Institutional Architecture for a 1.5 °C World”

From the winter semester 23/24, LMU's Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) will be funding a legal research group for the first time. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr Ann Katrin Kaufhold and Prof. Dr Rüdiger Veil, a group of international academics will investigate which institutions are best suited to shaping the transition to a climate-neutral society due to their institutional design. They will compare "traditional" institutions such as parliaments and supreme courts in different legal systems and contrast them with institutions that were created specifically for the purpose of climate protection, such as the Platform on Sustainable Finance.
